taking the “?” out of council regulations
At ruru tiny homes, our team has handled countless enquiries, provided tailored solutions, and navigated various situations for clients all over New Zealand. We understand the unique challenges faced by the entire tiny home community and the specific questions that arise.
Tiny Home Consultation Services
Need guidance on property regulations or council involvement? Our fixed-price consultation packages are open to everyone, whether you buy from us, build your own, or purchase elsewhere. Recognising the need for precise and comprehensive answers, this service is available to all Tiny Home Enthusiasts rather than just our own clients, and we can offer three distinct consultation packages. These packages are available to everyone in New Zealand, including clients of all builders and DIY tiny home project enthusiasts, excluding commercial purposes.
Resource Consent Applications
A consent is needed and you don’t know where to start? Overwhelmed by navigating resource consents for Tiny Homes on Wheels? We provide expert advice and support, available nationwide to tiny home enthusiasts, landlords, and THOW owners.
Ruru’s knowledge and grounds in regards to Tiny Homes on Wheels in New Zealand and the accompanying regulations are also based on regular review from RMA lawyers and barristers who have provided significant reassurance and confirmation to the work done by Daniel & Fran over the years. Last but not least, our trusted contacts at MBIE or your local Council are only a phone call away.
An abundance of qualifications making every tiny home journey a breeze.
Ruru owners Daniel and Fran are proud to say that none of their clients has ever encountered an issue with Council that was not easily resolved. They do thorough research and run an ethical, honest, and clear communication to all parties involved which has led to happy customers throughout in the past, and happy Councils too!
Daniel holds three overseas law degrees and worked as a barrister in Germany for years before he made the move to New Zealand and has been building up Ruru’s consultation expertise ever since. He is now specialising in RMA matters at the University of Auckland, currently awaiting admission to practice as solicitor in NZ.
Together with Fran’s field of expertise in research, development and marketing, holding a university degree in Communications and Public Relations, they have together created an extensive knowledge base and solid Council relationships nationwide.
